Here’s How We Make Sure Your Plants Arrive Happy and Healthy

Our Packaging Process

We’ve spent years perfecting the safest, most reliable plant shipping method. Here’s how we prepare every order:

7-Day Preparation Period

Each plant goes through a full week of health checks, hydration, and acclimation to ensure it’s strong and ready for its journey.

Soil Secured with Polyfill + Saran Wrap

The top layer of soil is sealed tightly with polyfill and Saran Wrap. This prevents soil from spilling during transit.

Leaf & Stem Protection

We gently pack polyfill around the leaves and use soft foam to minimize movement or bending. Your plant is cushioned from every angle.

Corrugated Wrap for Stability

The entire plant is taped into a corrugated roll to stabilize its structure and protect it from rough handling.

Each plant is packed in a sturdy cardboard box filled with crumbled Kraft paper to prevent shifting inside the box.

No packing peanuts. Just smart sustainable packaging that works.

Local Pickup

Prefer to pick up your plant in person? We offer local pickup every Saturday.

Pickup Hours: Saturdays, 10 AM – 4 PM

Location: Sarasota, Florida (address sent after order confirmation)

Appointments Required: You must contact us to schedule a pickup time.

We’re happy to hold your plant as long as needed — there is no time limit for pickup after it’s ready.

Winter Shipping

Winter shipping requires extra care. For orders shipping to locations under 35°F, we include:

  • Thermal foil insulation lining the inside of the box.

  • A 125-hour heat pack to keep your plant warm throughout its journey.

Shipping Schedule

We ship exclusively on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure your plants don’t sit in a warehouse over the weekend.

  • If your plant isn’t ready to ship by Tuesday, it will ship the following week.

  • For orders within Florida or using Next Day Air, we may make exceptions to ship on Wednesday.

  • We drop packages off just 30 minutes before carrier pickup to minimize wait time in shipping facilities.

Orders with more than 10 plants may require up to 14 days to process and ship.

We may split large orders into multiple boxes for plant safety and to reduce shipping risk.

Delays Due to Weather, Holidays & Natural Disasters

Sometimes, Mother Nature has other plans.

Major holidays, freak weather events, and natural disasters may delay shipping by up to one week. We’ll always prioritize your plant’s safety over speed.

Live Arrival Guarantee


Yes — your plant is guaranteed to arrive alive and healthy!

To qualify for our Live Arrival Guarantee:

You must send a clear, unedited unboxing video and photos of any concerns.

These must be submitted within 24 hours of the carrier’s official delivery timestamp (UPS or USPS).

We’ll assess the situation and offer a refund, replacement, or store credit if needed. We reserve the right to choose which resolution.

Please note: minor soil shifts or a couple of yellow leaves are normal during shipping and do not qualify as damage.

Palmstreet Orders

Palmstreet is our curated collection of premium plants, and these beauties deserve special handling.

Here’s how Palmstreet shipping works:

  • Palmstreet orders are processed and shipped the Monday after purchase, with a minimum 7-day preparation period.

    (For example: if you purchase on a Saturday, your order will ship the following Monday, not the next day.)

  • Palmstreet orders can be bundled with other Rare Plant Obsession purchases for convenience, and we’ll always pack everything with the same care.

  • If your Palmstreet order includes more than 10 plants, please allow up to 14 days for processing.

Sometimes, the unexpected happens — and when it does, our priority is protecting your plant.

  • Major holidays, severe weather, and natural disasters may delay your order by up to one week.

  • We’ll always communicate with you and prioritize safe shipping over rushed deliveries.

What to Expect When Your Plant Arrives

Shipping is stressful for plants — give yours time to recover:

  • Do not repot or disturb the soil for at least 14 days.

  • Place the plant in a stable environment with indirect light, consistent humidity, and gentle air flow.

  • After 14 days, you can adjust the soil or pot to better suit your watering habits and local climate.

International Shipping

Yes, we ship worldwide — but international orders require special steps:

  • Contact us before placing your order to confirm eligibility and plant clearance in your country.

  • A $100 surcharge is added to cover USDA-required phytosanitary documentation.

  • We ship immediately after USDA clearance is received.

Please understand we are not responsible for customs delays, duties, or confiscations. We recommend researching your country’s import laws prior to purchase.

When will my plant ship?
We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only. Orders placed after Tuesday ship the following Monday. Palmstreet orders ship the Monday after their 7-day prep period.
Can I request a weather hold?
Yes! Just contact us and we’ll hold your plant until the weather is safe for shipping.
Do you offer heat packs in the winter?
Yes. Heat packs are included for free to cold states under 35°F. You can also pay extra to have each plant individually insulated in thermal foil wrap.
What is your Live Arrival Guarantee?
We guarantee your plant arrives healthy. You must provide an unboxing video and photos within 24 hours of delivery (per the carrier timestamp).
My plant has yellow leaves — is that normal?
Yes. One or two yellowing leaves is totally normal during transit and does not indicate poor health.
Can I repot my plant when it arrives?
Please wait 14 days before repotting. Allow your plant to acclimate first, then adjust the soil to fit your watering schedule and climate.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Contact us before purchasing. A $100 surcharge covers the phytosanitary certificate and USDA clearance. We ship once your plant is cleared.
Can I combine Palmstreet with other orders?
Yes, when possible. Large or complex orders may ship separately depending on size and prep time.
What happens with delays from holidays or natural disasters?
Shipping may be delayed by up to a week. We’ll always prioritize your plant’s safe delivery over speed.
How do local pickups work?
Pickups are available Saturdays 10 AM–4 PM in Sarasota, FL. Contact us to schedule your pickup. No time limit to claim it.
